Notice Board

The Society would like to wish all our members a very successful lambing season. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible leading your very best lambs round the show rings this year!
Schmallenberg Virus (SBV) - Some cases have been reported around the country. Be alert - if your flock has been infected you may have some deformed lambs, and as a consequence ewes may struggle to give birth. If you think you have a lamb with SBV, the NSA urge you to contact your vet for a firm diagnosis - it is vital for decisions about future vaccination programmes, that the prevalence of the disease circulating the country this year is recorded.

The Cotswold sheep, often referred to as the 'Cotswold Lion' was introduced to the UK by the Romans. Their wool known as the 'Golden Fleece' was an important export. It not only played a major role in the development of many Cotswold towns and villages, but also in the finances of the nation. Sadly times have changed, and they are now classified as a rare breed.
