🐑 Shepherding Services

Friendly, reliable and practical shepherding support across the Cotswolds.

Whether you need a helping hand with routine jobs, have a problem you're unsure about, or simply want some extra experience and advice, I'm happy to help.

Services include:

  • 🐑 Routine flock checks and general shepherding
  • 🦶 Foot care and foot trimming
  • 🪰 Fly treatment
  • 💊 Worming and mineral drenching/bolusing
  • 💉 Vaccinating
  • 🔄 Sorting and handling, including weaning and selecting culls
  • 🚜 Help moving sheep and livestock
  • 🚚 Assistance with livestock transport
  • 🏷️ Help with marketing and selling sheep
  • 💡 General flock management advice
  • 🐕 Own dog available to assist with gathering where required

I'm particularly happy to work with small flocks and first-time or hobby sheep keepers, offering practical help while sharing advice and knowledge where useful.

Rates:

  • £30/ hour
  • 55p/ mile travel

SHEARING SERVICES FOR SMALL FLOCKS

Cotswold and Rare Breed Shearing Services

Friendly and reliable shearing services tailored specifically for smaller flocks across the Cotswolds.

I have experience handling Cotswolds and other large, long-wool and rare-breed sheep, with a calm and gentle approach to help keep the job as stress-free as possible.

Services include:

  • Ewes: £10/head
  • Rams: £15/head
  • £80 call-out and setup fee
  • 55p per mile travel 
  • Own dog to assist with gathering sheep if required
  • Happy to check teeth and udders on request and offer advice where appropriate
  • No mains power? No problem!

Availability: Primarily weekends, with some weekday evenings possible.

Whether you have a handful of sheep or a small flock, I'm happy to help with a friendly, professional service.

BLADE SHEARING

Fred the Shearer offers Blade Shearing for small flocks! Experienced with long wool breeds.

Blade shearing is gentler and less stressful for the sheep - but it takes longer:

The cost is £15 per ram and £12.50 per ewe (depending on numbers) + mileage at £0.50p per mile.
